Xiaowen Zhang is an assistant professor in the Department of Political Science with areas of interest in international political economy and the politics and economy of China. Before joining Augustana, she lectured at the School of International Relations at University of Southern California (USC), where she also received her Ph.D. in international relations in 2007. Xiaowen grew up in Beijing, China and came to the United States in 2001.
